Q: What do you do at The Bridge?
A: My title is “lead pastor”. Before I had that title, I thought that meant preaching every week and having transformative, encouraging conversations with people. In reality, it’s a little bit of that (at least, the preaching part!), but it’s also a lot of other things- from manager to graphic designer to mediator to counsellor to dreamer to meeting attender. At the most basic level, in all of these various aspects of my work, it’s about holding out a Christ-centred, Spirit-driven vision of who we are meant to be as the people of God and being used by God to move us in that direction. Sounds simple, right?
Q: Three things you do on your spare time?
A: Play with my kids. Play basketball. Watch a good TV show with my wife.
Q: Favourite author?
A: Author singular? Come on! Let’s go Tim Keller, Francis Chan, Mark Sayers, Leonard Ravenhill, Charles Spurgeon. Basically, I’ll read anyone who’s passionate about spiritual renewal!
Q: Something on your bucket list?
A: Visit Cedar Point in Ohio and ride some of the world’s biggest and best roller coasters.
Q: Describe your perfect moment?
A: Hanging out on the beach with my family on a warm summer evening. It wouldn’t hurt if there was a nice sunset, if the kids were getting along, if there was an iced chai latte in my hand, and there was some epic music in the background (Explosions in the Sky would work well).
