Although Rita Caputo grew up with a distinct curiosity about God and the Bible, she didn’t become a Christian until her late teens when a friend invited her to an evangelical church in Brazil. Rita was given the opportunity to ask questions and learn how to understand the Bible herself, which led to her baptism only one week later. She met her husband and began to raise a family in Brazil before moving to Canada with her family in 2017. Shortly after moving, Rita was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer, and she reflects on how God was working in her life, providing all the support, people, and many treatments she needed. Rita also shares how being a part of the church family at The Bridge has been life-giving and crucial for raising her kids in a faith-based community- BEYOND SUNDAYS. Back home in Brazil, Rita was a physiotherapist, and she shares how her work glorified God through meaningful connections with patients, loving them by helping them to heal from injuries and live a full life.
